Scholarship Program Purpose

The GT Tribe  Scholarship Program supports the academic and athletic aspirations of student-athletes in the Inland Empire. By providing financial assistance, we aim to empower individuals who demonstrate commitment to education and sports, fostering their growth as future leaders. Our mission is to recognize and reward student-athletes who embody the values of hard work, resilience, leadership, and teamwork—both on and off the field.

Criteria for Selection

  1. Residency & Affiliation – Must be a current senior and in the class of 2025. Priority is given to students residing in the Inland Empire, with special consideration for those affiliated with the GT TRIBE organization and the CJUSD school district.

  2. Academic Achievement – Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, as verified by school transcripts.

  3. Athletic Involvement – Candidates must actively participate in athletics, with preference given to those engaged in organized sports, particularly baseball. Applicants must articulate in their personal statement how being a student-athlete has shaped their personal growth.

  4. Financial Need – Applicants must demonstrate financial need and explain how this scholarship will help them pursue higher education or vocational training.

Applicants must submit their completed application and required documents through the provided application link by the deadline.

 

Required Documents:

✔ Completed Application Form – Fill out the form at the application link.
✔ Transcripts – Must show a minimum 3.0 GPA (unofficial transcripts acceptable for application; official transcripts required if awarded).
✔ Personal Statement Essay – A 300-500 word essay responding to the prompt below.
✔ Letters of Recommendation – Two letters: one from a teacher and one from a coach (must be uploaded as attachments).

Personal Statement Essay Prompt:

In 300-500 words, describe how your experience as a student-athlete has shaped your personal development, leadership skills, and character. Discuss the challenges you have faced, the lessons learned, and how being part of a team has influenced your ability to collaborate and persevere. Additionally, reflect on the role of scholar-athletes in schools and communities. Finally, explain how this scholarship will support your academic journey, including your plans for higher education, your intended field of study, and your career aspirations.

Application & Award Dates

📅 Deadline: April 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (Late applications will not be considered.)

✅ Complete Applications Must Include:

  • Completed Application Form (submitted through the link)

  • Transcripts (unofficial or official; official required to receive the scholarship)

  • Personal Statement Essay

  • Letters of Recommendation (one from a teacher, one from a coach)

🔔 Award Notification:
Recipients will be notified via email and will be recognized at the GT TRIBE Scholarship Award Meeting.

 

🎓 Eligibility for Funds:
Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in a vocational/trade school, community college, or four-year university. Proof of enrollment and official high school transcripts must be provided before funds are awarded.

 

💰 Scholarship Awards:
The GT TRIBE Scholarship Committee determines the number of awardees and final award amounts each year based on the applicant pool and availability of funds.
