GT TRIBE Baseball Club Scholarship Program

Scholarship Program Purpose:

The GT TRIBE Baseball Club Scholarship Program aims to support the educational pursuits of talented and deserving student-athletes within the Inland Empire. By providing financial assistance, we strive to empower individuals who have demonstrated dedication to both academics and athletics, fostering their growth and success as they pursue higher education. The GT TRIBE Baseball Club Scholarship Program is committed to fostering the holistic development of student-athletes in the Inland Empire. Through this initiative, we strive to recognize and reward individuals who embody the values of hard work, determination, and resilience on and off the field. Our mission is to provide academic and athletic excellence opportunities, empowering students to pursue their dreams and become future community leaders.

Criteria for Selection:

  1. Residency and Affiliation: Must be a 2024 high school graduate and student athlete in the Inland Empire. Special consideration for those affiliated with the GT TRIBE organization and the CJUSD school district.

  2. Academic Achievement: Applicants must exhibit academic excellence with a minimum GPA of 2.75, as evidenced by official transcripts.

  3. Athletic Involvement: Applicants must be actively involved in athletics in the Inland Empire, with special consideration given to CJUSD students and preference given to those who are members of organized sports teams, including but not limited to baseball. They must articulate in their personal statement how participation in athletics has contributed to their personal development.

  4. Financial Need: Candidates must demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship, highlighting how the financial support will enable them to pursue their educational goals.

How to Apply for the Scholarship

  1. Applicants must submit the following in PDF format to info@gttribe.com by the deadline. In the subject line of the email, please include the following: Applicant’s Name GT TRIBE Scholarship 24-25

  2. In the email, please attach the following: 

    1. Transcripts demonstrating a 2.75 cumulative GPA (unofficial acceptable for application; official transcripts needed when awarded)

    2. Personal Statement Essay: Write a 300-500 word personal statement demonstrating your sport’s influence on your development, leadership, character, and ability to work with others. Include the importance of scholar-athletes in schools in your statement and share your academic journey with the committee. In addition, demonstrate how the scholarship will help you with your studies in higher education or vocational or trade school. Share the school you plan to attend and your intended major or area of study. 

    3. Letter of Recommendation: Include one letter of recommendation required, two recommended — at least one from a teacher or from a coach. 

    4. Tribe Scholarship Application Form: Fill out the application, save the file with your name and include it in your email application.

2025 Applications Will Be Accepted Starting January 2025

Application and Award Dates

  1. The application deadline is June 22, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. All applications should be emailed to info@gttribe.com 

  2. Only applications that are complete and contain all necessary information will be reviewed. Our scholarship committee will review full applications. 

    1. Complete applications will include: 

      1. Transcripts (unofficial or official; official required to receive the scholarship)

      2. Personal Statement Essay

      3.  Letter of Recommendation: Include one letter of recommendation required, two recommended — at least one from a teacher or from a coach.

  3. Awardees will be notified by email or phone and presented at the GT TRIBE Scholarship Award Meeting in July. 

Note: Awardees of the scholarship must be enrolled in a vocational/trade school, community college, or four-year university to receive financial assistance and provide proof of enrollment in said program and high school transcripts to receive the award.
