🎓 About the GT Tribe Scholarship
The GT Tribe Scholarship was launched in 2024 to recognize student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in academics and athletics—true scholar-athletes who lead with discipline, heart, and humility. Our goal is to help student-athletes pursue higher education, and this scholarship is intended to help ease the financial burden of higher education so each recipient can focus on pursuing their academic and athletic goals with confidence.
My husband Mark and I founded GT Tribe Baseball in 2019 to give back to the community that shaped us. Our goal has always been to provide opportunities for student-athletes not only to grow in the game of baseball but to succeed in life and education beyond the field. Our desire is to help our athletes learn leadership on and off the field and to give back to the community.
🙌 Our Impact & Community Support
With eight teams and nearly 100 players, GT Tribe is proud to be more than just a baseball club—we are a community movement. The Class of 2025 marks a significant milestone for GT Tribe—our first group of graduating players. Two of these athletes will go on to compete at the collegiate level this fall, a testament to their dedication and growth through our complete development pathway. These young men have grown with us from our youth teams, through our high school program, and into our college development track, and we couldn’t be more proud to see them take this next step in their athletic and academic journeys.
Each year, we give back through our Christmas Toy Drive, Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway, and now, through the GT Tribe Student-Athlete Scholarship. The generosity and passion of our Tribe families and sponsors fuel these efforts.
A special thank you to our 2024 supporters: Connexion Sports, Inland Peak, Vicky’s Restaurant, Professional Lawyers Group, Villareal Roofing, and every family and friend who supported our GT Tribe Golf Classic and fundraising events. Your belief in our mission helps create real opportunities for student-athletes in our community.
Thank you for being part of our Tribe family. We look forward to continuing this journey together.
With appreciation,
Sandra & Mark Romo Founders, GT Tribe Baseball Club
